A couple of short story reviews

Review of Bottom's Up by Amanda Young 3*
BLURB: For the first time ever, get all three of Amanda Young’s best selling Bottom’s Up stories in one bundle. Come on in to the bar, where the cocktails are sweet and the men are spicy.
In A KINKY ORGASM, you’ll meet bar owner Briar Henley, who can’t believe his good fortune when his old high school crush strolls into his little bar and orders the house specialty – a kinky orgasm. Yearning for a little payback of the intimate persuasion, Briar sees nothing wrong with fulfilling an old fantasy and finding out why the most popular jock from high school is suddenly eyeing him like a juicy steak.
Get to know Caleb and Zaki in TRIPLESEX, where the two discontent lover’s are supposed to meet for a drink and wind up sharing much more than their favorite cocktails.
SCREWED catches up with Max, whose life is in upheaval after a series of racy photos appeared online. On his last night in town, Max visits his favorite local bar in a last-ditch attempt to reach out to his deeply closeted lover. One way or the other, Max plans to depart in the morning—with or without the love of his life

My Review: A quick enjoyable read with some lovely sex scenes and sweet romance. I liked the way the titles were both indicative of the story and also a cocktail that one of the main characters drank.

Review of Silence (Dire Wolves)by Lena Austin 3*
BLURB: "One funeral wasn't enough for you?" said the kidnapper's note...
Deafened in an attempted murder, Detective Cameron Douglas is involuntarily retired from the force, despite his willingness to continue with the investigation of the murder of the mayor's secretary. Now, it's personal. ENT therapist Noel Miller is a vampire with a few scars of his own. He wants to be more than Cam's interpreter and instructor in deaf culture. He could help Cam, if only the werewolf will let him into his life and heart.
Then the murderer strikes again. Right at Cam.

My Review: I love Vampire and Shifter stories and this was fairly good for such a short one. It had some lovely humour and a fair bit of action. My only complaint is that it was too short and didn't really flesh out the world as much as it could have.
