But the very next day Trace proceeded to ramp up his embarrassment by quantum leaps when he nearly sets his aunt's house on fire and the brooding Sawyer has to come to the rescue.

Seems like Trace's "luck" followed him.

Not to mention that Aunt Lois's "accident" was actually attempted murder. And now, they just might want Trace dead, too.

Can Trace figure out who's behind the attempts on his aunt's life AND keep Sawyer from finding out he's hot for the cowboy?

“I told you, I’m making sure you’re okay.” Sawyer took Trace’s shoulders and firmly pushed him down and his bare butt landed on the bed. The next thing Sawyer did was to spread Trace’s legs and push aside his shirt re-exposing Trace’s red burn marks and very nearly his hardening cock.

Gasping for air that seemed to have abandoned the room Trace flattened both his palms against Sawyer’s chest and pushed hard, sending the man to the floor on his ass. “And I told you, I’m fine!”

Trace needed to get out of Sawyer’s presence before the man saw his unbridled desire because even though his life was pretty much crap right now he still wanted to live. He grabbed up his jeans and underwear and dashed out of the room, sidestepping a confused Sawyer. He ran down the hall to the nearest bathroom and slammed and locked the door.

Leaning back up against the door he was so relieved to have escaped…except…damn.

He suddenly realized how incredibly adolescent he had just been. Shit. He ran like some grade school kid from bullies. He acted like some weak damsel in danger of being molested. The only thing missing was falling in the hallway as the bad guy gave chase. But the “bad guy” in this scenario didn’t even know what the hell was happening. All Sawyer would know was that Trace was daft and he would be wise to stay clear.

Well, at least in that case, he wouldn’t have to explain his idiotic behavior.

But of course it wasn’t going to be that easy. When fully dressed Trace finally walked back into his bedroom he found Sawyer laying on the bed, hands behind his head and his ankles crossed. At least he had removed his boots.

“Um…sorry I was a little…I was just…” Trace was just what? Thinking he might like to kiss the man’s lips, lick his chest, suck on his cock? That thinking such things might send the cowboy into a murderous rage?
