Everyone, Please Welcome Jacob Flores To My Blog.

Hi, everyone! I'm Jacob Z. Flores, and I'm so glad to be here at Bonkers About Books to promote my recent release Undercover Boyfriend, the first book in my One Fine Day series.

Some of you may already know that the books in this series all center on the theme of marriage. In fact, a wedding/marriage is the common thread in all the books in the series. The characters in each book will be different and so will their situations. This will allow readers to pick up the series at any point without feeling as if they have missed out on something covered in the first book.

Now that you know a little about the series itself, I’d like to introduce you to Luke Myers, one of the main characters in Undercover Boyfriend, the first book in the series.

Luke works for the FBI as an undercover agent, where he infiltrates the bad guys and helps bring them to justice. Naturally, that means he’s a pretty tough fellow. In fact, he knows a dozen ways to kill his opponent in just one move. So, it shouldn't be too surprising that one of Luke’s favorite past times is watching action/adventure movies.

So what better way is there to get to know Luke than by letting him share the action/adventure heroes he loves the most? Without further ado, I’d like all of you to meet Special Agent Luke Myers.

Good afternoon. As Jacob said, my name is Luke Myers, FBI agent and action/adventure movie aficionado. I know action/adventure movies aren’t for everyone. Sometimes, the fight scenes can get a bit unrealistic. Believe me, I know you don’t just fall twelve feet and jump back up as if nothing happened. I’ve been there, done that, and have a fractured tibia to prove it. Still, despite the sometimes-unbelievable plot points, there’s just something about a good action/adventure movie that appeals to me.

I’m sure a big reason is that my Dad loved them. When I was young, we used to sit on the couch together and watch action movie marathons. It used to drive my Mom crazy, especially since she preferred watching sappy love stories, which just aren't my thing.

So in honor of my Dad and all those weekends we spent on the couch together, I wanted to share with you the action heroes that made my top 3.

#3—Indiana Jones

Indiana Jones has always been one of my all time favorite action heroes. This man wasn’t a soldier or a cop. He had no formal training in self-defense or combat. He was an archaeologist for crying out loud! All he had to rely on were his smarts, a tough-as-nails ex-girlfriend, and a cool hat and whip.

Yet despite his serious lack of training, Indy was able to take on and defeat a rival archaeologist (who would have thought such a thing existed?) and the Nazis. That’s right! This academic was able to get the drop on those bad guys by outsmarting them at every turn. Sure, he was captured at the end, but he had the brains to keep his eyes shut while those stupid Ratzis’s faces melted away.

#2—James Bond

Come on. It’s James Bond. Probably the best and most badass hero ever!

Unlike Indy, 007 has been trained in the art of combat. He even has a license to kill, and isn’t shy about using it. He flies all over the world, protecting the interests of the English crown and bringing down some pretty shady guys with gizmos and gadgets that would make Batman green with envy. Plus, he always looks mighty damn fine while he’s saving the world.

#1—John McClane from Die Hard

To me, John McClane is the epitome of an action hero. He didn’t have comedic sidekicks to help him fight the Nazis or super spy gadgets to deal with his foes. This snarky cop was trapped in a building filled with terrorists and had to take them all, and he did it bare-footed!

Tell me that’s not the very definition of awesome!

Well, there you have it—my top 3 favorite action heroes of all time. Honestly, it was difficult for me to pare it down. There were so many contenders. So who are your favorite action heroes and why do you like them so much?
