Reviewing If A Butterfly Don't Fly by Mell Eight

If A Butterfly Don't Fly (Out of Underhill #2) by Mell Eight 4*
BLURB:
Merridy has always loved music, but can't sing. The only job in the music business he can get is as a security guard for The Bard and Sons, a premier record label. He keeps their secrets and patrols their hallways, always secretly wishing for a big break that he knows will never come.
Changeling's Court is a brand new band struggling to cut their first single and record. Merridy chances upon a scrap of their lyrics without accompanying music notes and can't help composing a simple ballad for them. If he's found out he'll probably get fired.
Instead, he finds himself in a strange new world of magic and faeries—and danger

My Review: I received a copy in exchange for an honest review I really enjoyed the frist Out of Underhill story and was looking forward to the second book. When I read the blurb and realised it was going to be a whole new set of characters I was a bit dubious but it turned out to be unfounded.
This was as good as it's predecessor and could easily be read as stand alone if you missed the first one. My advice though is, if you enjoy this book, go back and read book one as well.
In this one the main character really had me hooked from page one - he was so intensely real to me . The rest of the band weren't quite as intense as that but were interesting non the less. As in the first one, Underhill was exactly what I dreamed of it being ever since I first encountered Irish Elven stories as a child, and Mell Eight does it true justice in her writing of it. I also loved the way music was woven throughout as music is a real thing with Irish people and that came over very well too.
I would highly recommend this book to anyone who didn't get enough Irish mythology after book one or who just loves a great story full of everything that makes Elves so magical.
