Reviews of Lace by KC Wells and Before You Break by KC Wells & Parker Williams.

Lace (A Material World #1) by K.C. Wells 4*
BLURB: When Shawn’s best mate Dave breaks up with his girlfriend, Shawn tries not to get his hopes up. After all, Dave’s still straight, right? Wrong. Dave reveals he’s bisexual, and that pounding you hear is Shawn’s heart. He’s loved Dave for so long, but he’s not about to jeopardize their friendship by telling Dave how he really feels.
But when Dave discovers Shawn’s little kink, it opens up a whole new chapter for the two friends. Except Shawn can’t help but worry – if there was no kink, would Dave be there? And is Shawn brave enough to find out? A standalone short story of lust, lace – and love….

My Review: I received an ARC for reviewing purposes This was a short, sweet, sexy read from one of my favourite authors. K.C. has a way of bringing characters alive and giving them all the traits that make them seem as real as your best friend or neighbour. I really enjoyed reading this book.

Before You Break (Secrets #1) by K.C.Wells & Parker Williams 4*
BLURB: Six years ago Ellis walked into his first briefing as the newest member of London’s Specialist Firearms unit. He was partnered with Wayne and they became fast friends. When Wayne begins to notice changes—Ellis’s erratic temper, the effects of sleep deprivation—he knows he has to act before Ellis reaches his breaking point. He invites Ellis to the opening of the new BDSM club, Secrets, where Wayne has a membership. His purpose? He wants Ellis to glimpse the lifestyle before Wayne approaches him with a proposition. He wants to take Ellis in hand, to control his life because he wants his friend back, and he figures this is the only way to do it.
There are a few issues, however. Ellis is straight. Stubborn. And sexy. Wayne knows he has to put his own feelings aside to be what Ellis needs. What surprises the hell out of him is finding out what Ellis actually requires.

My Review: I received an ARC for reviewing purposes I couldn't resist saying yes to getting a copy of this book once I knew it was a spin off from the Collars & Cuffs series. I just hope the authors continue to produce such excellent stories for many more years.
The relationship of the main couple was all that I expect it to be. The storyline had me hooked from the start and getting to see the new London club that Jarod and Eli own was a bonus. I highly recommend this to any Collars & Cuffs fans who want more of the same but with all new characters. I personally can't wait for the next one and hope I don't have to wait too long for it.
