Promo post- I'm a new host for 13RedMedia books.

I am proud to announce that I am joining forces with 13 Red Media who are a small press focusing on quality LGBT fiction. You will most likely see promotional posts by me about books published by 13 Red Media as well as the odd review.

13RedMedia have three sub divisions for the kind of books they publish and they are currently accepting submissions. Just check the criteria below and if you're an author of LGBT then why not give it a go?
CHERRY
13 Red Media Cherry is the LGBT-focused Romance and Erotica imprint.
 GARNET
13 Red Media Garnet is the Genre Fiction imprint.
Protagonists should be a part of the LGBT community.
CARDINAL
13 Red Media Cardinal is the non-fiction imprint.
All submissions must have a significant LGBT slant and seek to educate or inspire.

As a taster of what 13RedMedia are doing, here are a few of the books you can get right now (and one book that is due out on the 21st). I've added buy links at the bottom of each scroll box if you should find yourself wanting to buy that book.

When Viktor Mikhailov follows in his father’s footsteps and joins the relatively insignificant Russian mob, he is given an assignment none of his comrades want, yet Viktor cannot help but be secretly pleased. The city is a cesspool of organized crime, with several outfits fighting for a piece of the Prohibition pie, and Viktor’s slice is the openly gay Towertown. Tasked with providing whiskey to the queer clubs he covertly frequents, Viktor gains monetary wealth while finding himself in an unconventional relationship with his top client’s muse, an enigmatic redhead named Calvin Connolly.

Calvin—along with throngs of idealists who pack the pansy parlors—believes they stand on the precipice of a revolution, but Viktor is not convinced. A skeptic by both nature and lack of nurture, Viktor questions the conservative culture’s capacity for true change while hoping that broad acceptance is imminent. Perhaps then he could accept the parts of himself he hides.

While the repeal of Prohibition leads to financial issues for Viktor, a Depression-era disapproval of the liberal lifestyles of the 1920s initiates a slew of deeper problems. Sensationalized news stories regarding a rash of sex crimes paint homosexuals as depraved monsters and precipitate numerous laws against the queer community. The government’s intent is not only to eradicate pansy parlors—but homosexuality entirely. When an unexpected arrest forces Viktor to arrive at a decision he feels unprepared to make, he struggles with the ramifications.

You might chalk Matthew Gareson and Vince Valentino's lightning-fast relationship as a stereotype. It's an age-old trope after all--the one where the talented photographer falls for a hot model and they make their mark on the industry together. Or maybe the story is more scandalous, full of intrigue and backstabbing in the salacious world of fashion. Perhaps the story is nothing like you would expect, because you never expected to fall in love with Matthew and Vince as fast as they fell for each other. And maybe you deserve to get swept away too.

I always knew I was different—the things I thought about, what I wanted to experience with a partner. Nothing turned me on more than the idea of being controlled by a cocky, confident guy, but at eighteen—and in my first year of college—I'd resigned myself to the fact that it wasn’t likely to happen.

Then I went to a party and met Dex. He was everything I’d ever dreamed about. He had a way of bending me to his will and making me beg for more. Who would have thought a chance meeting at a random party would have been the catalyst for my sexual awakening.

Joey Mills doesn’t know who he wants to be. He isn’t even sure who he doesn’t. All he knows is that he thinks about it less than other people who try to mold themselves into certain boxes they are convinced they need to fit into. He always fit in just by being himself. Or maybe that is what he trains his brain to believe, that he is who he wants to be, and that people want to be around whoever he is. Thinking about it too much is a dangerous exercise in self-doubt, one he doesn’t have the patience to participate in. Why doesn’t he tell people he is gay? Why is it off-limits if he truly doesn’t worry about what people think of him? Maybe it’s time for a change.
Rise Up is a series of new adult novels that illuminates pivotal moments in the lives of LGBTQ youth. Each novel features a fresh protagonist and his experience navigating the ups and downs of adulthood. While the characters change and the stories vary, common themes--including the struggle for independence, identifying one's passions, searching for acceptance and for love--are interwoven through the pages of the novels. These stories will open your eyes to worlds of possibilities, both conventional and off-beat, as these men take you on their journeys to self-discovery.
